Group therapy

Research has shown that groups are just as effective as one-to-one therapy and other positive outcomes include:

  • A unique, shared experience
  • Instillation of Hope, when seeing others progress
  • Allow expression in front of others without feeling judged
  • Altruism and compassion may be developed
  • Sharing of Knowledge 
  • Enhance social interactions 

Who can Benefit:

Any one can benefit from our Group Therapy Sessions who are struggling with:

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) / Trauma
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Isolation
  • General Mental Health Concerns

Sessions Consist of:

  • How to manage distress
  • Controlling emotions 
  • Relating to others
  • Mindfulness

Our Group session combine Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). 

With a practical approach of exercises, techniques and after session awareness.

Group Therapy Sessions run Every Monday 

9.00 pm – 10.00 pm (BST)

Groups are limited to no more than 12 participants.

FAQ:

Is this a Program?

No, it is not a program. Sessions are run weekly, and you do not have to commit to a certain amount.  You can book a Session, as and when you need too with no obligation. Come and go as you need, when you need. 

Of course, you are welcome to book a number of Sessions, by adding your dates above.

How do Sessions work?

Sessions are run via Zoom, an Online Classroom Portal. Once you have booked your place on a Session, you will receive an email with details of the Session and the Class Access Link. 

When the Session is due to start, click on the link to access the class room. You will enter a waiting room, please make sure that you enter with the same name you booked onto the session with. Entry to the class will only be approved, if your name matches the booking.

You are welcome to join with or without your camera, this is no obligation for you to be seen or identified. Respect is given to those who wish to remain anonymous. 

What happens in a Session?
I know, that making the first step to book a Session is huge! It may come with anxieties or even relief, so be very proud of yourself for the steps you are taking to be a better version of you! 
 
The Sessions are very informal, they consist of: How to manage distress, Controlling emotions, relating to others, mindfulness and much more depending on the flow of the session and how many are in attendance. 
 
Sessions are practical, so although they are therapy sessions and you will have a safe space to speak about how you are feeling, share your emotions, it is also a space that you can take away tips, tools and techniques. We will together during the session complete various exercises and planning. 
 
Though I prepare an Agenda, there is also a free flowing style to the sessions. 
What if I have never accessed Therapy?

Welcome, our Group Therapy is for anyone who has accessed therapy before or never. It is an Affordable and Accessible means for Therapy, sometimes accessing Counselling or one to one Therapy can seem daunting, overwhelming and often intimidating.  

Group Therapy can provide a perfect solution to release this pressure, you are among others, sharing together and creating a dynamic of understanding. 

The idea of Group Therapy, is to provide a safe, shared space. If you are anxious about speaking, then that is fine too, you won’t be ‘called on to speak, this is why my Group Sessions are also practical, so that you can still engage on a practical level, as well as a Therapeutic level. 

Ideally, the goal is for you to feel safe enough to open up, share and release emotions, but my Lived Experience has also shown this may take a few sessions, either way you will still benefit from being in a Session.
